A 10-minute walkthrough for exporting your full TalkingParents message history, calendar, and payment records as court-admissible PDFs — while the free web export is still available.

You can export your full TalkingParents history as a court-admissible PDF for free from the web app. Log in at talkingparents.com on a desktop, go to Records, select your full date range, and download Message Records, Calendar Records, and Accountable Payments separately. Save to two locations. Total time: about 10 minutes.

Why Export Now

With TalkingParents free mobile gone as of June 1, 2026, many parents are deciding whether to pay or switch. Either way, exporting your records first is the right move. If you switch, you keep your historical paper trail. If you stay, you have a backup in case of an account issue, billing dispute, or future price change.

Step 1: Export Message Records

• Open a desktop browser (mobile export is limited) and log in at talkingparents.com.
• Click Records in the top navigation, then Message Records.
• Set Start Date to your first day on the app (or as far back as the calendar lets you go).
• Set End Date to today.
• Click Generate PDF. The free Standard plan produces a watermarked PDF that courts still accept — the watermark does not affect admissibility.
• Download and rename the file: TalkingParents_Messages_YourName_YYYY-MM-DD.pdf.

Step 2: Export Calendar Records

Calendar Records prove parenting time, exchange schedules, and any unilateral changes. From Records, click Calendar Records and follow the same date-range process. This document is critical if you ever need to demonstrate denied parenting time.

Step 3: Export Accountable Payments

If you used TalkingParents for shared expenses or child support adjustments, export the Accountable Payments report. This shows every request, every payment, every dispute. Family court treats this as financial discovery; missing months can hurt your reimbursement claims.

Step 4: Store Safely

Store every export in two separate locations. A common pattern: one copy in your cloud drive (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud) inside a folder named Custody Records, and one copy on a local external drive or USB stick kept somewhere safe. Do not store the only copy on the device you use day to day — phones get lost.

Step 5: Verify Before You Cancel Anything

Open each PDF and scroll. Confirm the date range matches what you requested, every message is readable, and timestamps are present. If a section is cut off, regenerate with a shorter range. Only after you have verified all three documents should you consider canceling, switching, or downgrading your account.

What to Do With the Exports

If you are moving to a free alternative like PeacePath Compass, upload your old exports to the Document Vault so your full history lives in one place. If you are staying on TalkingParents paid, keep the exports as your offline backup. Either way: do not delete them. Records relevant to a child custody matter may need to be available for years.
