How to Export OurFamilyWizard Records Before You Lose Access — 2026 Complete Guide
By PeacePath Editorial Team · · Court Documentation
Educational content reviewed for accuracy. Not legal advice.
Your OurFamilyWizard messages, journal entries, and expense logs do not automatically follow you when your subscription ends. Here is exactly how to export everything before access closes, and how to preserve it so it holds up when it matters.
If you are reading this, something has changed. Your subscription is lapsing. Your co-parent stopped paying their share. You are switching platforms. A court order changed the requirements. Or you simply realized that years of documented exchanges sitting inside OurFamilyWizard are more valuable than you thought, and you need them somewhere safe.
Whatever brought you here, the answer is the same: export everything now, before access ends. This guide walks you through exactly how to do that, what to save, and how to preserve your records in a format that holds up when it matters most.
Why Your OurFamilyWizard Records Matter
OurFamilyWizard stores years of co-parenting communication in a format courts recognize. Every message is timestamped. Every expense request is logged. Every journal entry is dated. That documentation does not automatically follow you when your subscription ends.
When an OurFamilyWizard account lapses, access to historical records is restricted or lost entirely depending on the account status and how long the subscription has been inactive. The messages do not disappear immediately, but the window to retrieve them closes faster than most people expect.
If those records document custody violations, missed payments, communication patterns, or incidents relevant to your case, losing access to them is losing evidence.
What to Export From OurFamilyWizard
Export all of the following before your access ends:
- Messages. Every message thread between you and your co-parent. These are the most valuable records: timestamped, unedited, and often the primary evidence in custody modification hearings.
- Journal entries. If you have been using the OurFamilyWizard journal feature to document incidents, exchanges, or observations about your children, export all entries. These are your contemporaneous records.
- Expense logs. Every expense request, payment, and reimbursement record. In cases involving disputed child support or shared expense obligations, this documentation is often the difference between a he-said-she-said dispute and a documented financial record.
- Calendar and schedule data. Documented schedule deviations, late exchanges, and missed visits logged against the calendar.
- ToneMeter reports, if available. If your plan included ToneMeter AI analysis, export any generated reports.
How to Export Your OurFamilyWizard Records
Step 1: Log in before your subscription lapses
Log into your OurFamilyWizard account at ourfamilywizard.com before your subscription lapses. Do not wait until after the renewal date.
Step 2: Export each section individually
Navigate to each section of your account and export it separately:
- Messages: Go to the Message Board section and look for a Print or Export option in the upper right of the message thread. OurFamilyWizard lets you print message threads as PDFs. Do this for every thread, and save each PDF with a descriptive filename, for example OFW_Messages_[Date Range].pdf.
- Journal: Navigate to the Journal section, select the date range you want to export, and use the Print function to generate a PDF of all entries. Save as OFW_Journal_[Date Range].pdf.
- Expenses: Navigate to the Expense Log and filter by date range, exporting all years separately if the record is long. Print or export as PDF and save as OFW_Expenses_[Year].pdf.
- Calendar: Navigate to the Calendar section and screenshot or print each month that contains documented deviations or incidents. The calendar export function is limited, so screenshots with visible timestamps are your best option for preserving this.
Step 3: Save everything to two locations
Keep one local backup (your computer or an external drive) and one cloud backup (Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud). Do not rely on a single copy.
Step 4: Name every file consistently
Use a naming convention your attorney can follow: OFW_[Type]_[StartDate]_[EndDate].pdf. For example: OFW_Messages_2023-01_2026-09.pdf.
Step 5: Note the export date on each file
When you save each PDF, add a note to the filename or a cover page: "Exported from OurFamilyWizard on [date]." This establishes when the record was retrieved.
What OurFamilyWizard Exports Do Not Give You
This is the part most guides leave out.
OurFamilyWizard exports are static PDFs. They are snapshots of records at the moment of export. They do not carry server-side timestamps that can be independently verified, and they do not have tamper-evidence architecture. A skilled attorney for the other side can challenge whether a PDF export accurately reflects the original record or has been altered after export.
This is not a reason to avoid exporting. It is a reason to understand what you have when you do.
If you are preserving OurFamilyWizard records for active litigation, share the original PDFs with your attorney immediately and let them advise on how to introduce them as evidence. Do not alter, annotate, or combine the exported files before your attorney has reviewed them.
What to Do After You Export
Once your records are safely exported, the next question is where your documentation goes from here. If you are continuing to co-parent after leaving OurFamilyWizard, you need a platform that creates new records going forward, records that do not depend on your co-parent's participation, subscription, or cooperation.
PeacePath Compass works in Independent Mode™. Your co-parent never needs to join, sign up, or know you are using it. Every incident you log is timestamped server-side. Every expense you record is tamper-evident. Every message you send with CalmSend™ coaching is documented before it goes out.
The records you export from OurFamilyWizard today are your history. What you document from today forward is your future case. Start documenting free at peacepath-compass.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access my OurFamilyWizard records after my subscription expires?
Access to historical records after subscription expiration varies by account status and how long the account has been inactive. OurFamilyWizard has changed its data retention policies over time. Do not assume your records will be available after your renewal date passes. Export before expiration.
Can my co-parent see that I exported the records?
No. Exporting or printing your own records in OurFamilyWizard does not notify the other party.
Can OurFamilyWizard records be used in court?
OurFamilyWizard records have been accepted as evidence in family court proceedings, and courts recognize them as contemporaneous communication records. Their admissibility depends on how they are introduced and the specific rules of evidence in your jurisdiction. Your attorney should advise on this for your specific case.
Are OurFamilyWizard exports tamper-evident?
No. PDF exports are static files that can be altered after export without detection. This is why sharing exported records with your attorney immediately and preserving the originals without modification is important.
What if I cannot afford to keep my OurFamilyWizard subscription long enough to export everything?
Contact OurFamilyWizard support directly and explain your situation. In some cases, they will provide limited access for record retrieval. Legal aid organizations may also be able to assist. The COMPASS free module at peacepath-compass.com can help you document going forward at no cost.
